Hotel Room Rate is holding up well compared to 2019 and RevPAR is up again to $163 – this equals stronger profitability! BC Ferries and YYJ are stable and the cruise ship season is off to a great season!

Although we are seeing a little softening of occupancy numbers in the larger, upper tier accommodation properties compared to last year, performance is still very strong and we expect the tourism season results to be close to the 2017 and 2018 seasons.

As predicted by industry leaders, tourism performance data is showing a leveling off of the very significant growth that we witnessed in 2018. The numbers are still strong, and we expect that the rest of the year will follow this growth plateau pattern.
