Hotel results improved in September 2021 and are robust considering it has been only 8-10 weeks since circuit breaker restrictions ended.
August 2021 saw a healthy recovery for Greater Victoria hotels, driven by regional and Canadian travel.
The pace of reservations increased steadily in July with Phase 3 of the BC Restart Plan.
June 15th saw Step 2 of the BC Restart Plan with reservations starting to building in late June.
May 2021 was essentially a wash out for tourism and hospitality as the “circuit breaker” restrictions were in place.
The travel and accommodation sectors were impacted heavily due to circuit breaker restrictions in April which introduced some the most severe restrictions since the pandemic commenced.
We have heard from some hoteliers that the March break and Easter were decent weekends with staycation business.
