April Arens is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) with more than 10 years of experience supporting organizations across a range of industries, including hospitality, restaurants, retail, and professional services. She has worked with businesses of all sizes across Canada and the United States, including startups, growing organizations, and large established companies.
April brings strong U.S. HR knowledge and experience, supporting organizations with the unique HR practices, compliance requirements, and workplace considerations involved in operating in the U.S. and across borders.
Her areas of expertise include recruitment and selection, onboarding and offboarding, performance management, employee engagement, compliance, succession planning, and HR systems and processes.
April enjoys getting to the root of workplace challenges, identifying opportunities for improvement, and developing practical, creative solutions. She is known for being approachable, thoughtful, and easy to talk to, creating a comfortable environment for people to bring forward difficult conversations.
Outside of consulting, April enjoys spending time with family and friends, travelling, dance lessons, and being outdoors—whether skiing, hiking, or enjoying a good book in the sunshine.
