Arlene Keis

Arlene Keis is an accomplished strategist, leader and HR business partner who is recognized for her strengths in helping organizations achieve their business goals by developing and executing HR plans to support many different and changing business contexts. Arlene started her career as a teacher and shortly thereafter moved on to the helping professions where she worked 10 years as a counsellor in the Employee Assistance field. EAP work led her into a 25-year HR career as a practitioner and then a leader.
Arlene’s experience includes leading the development and implementation of progressive Human Resources and EAP services at the operational, corporate and industry levels in both public and private sectors and in both union and non-union environments. From 2002 until 2020, Arlene was the CEO for British Columbia’s tourism industry’s HR Association, go2HR. At go2HR, Arlene played a key role in implementing and coordinating the tourism industry’s HR Action Plan, which was a key pillar in the industry’s growth strategy. In 2019, in recognition of her many years of contribution to the tourism sector, Arlene was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Tourism Industry Association of BC.
Arlene has a M.Ed. in Counselling Psychology from UBC and a B.Ed. from the University of Victoria. She is also designated as a Chartered Professional in Human Resources.
