Hotels, restaurants, ferries and airport reported strong results compared to 2018 despite poor weather conditions. We are looking forward to those cherry blossoms – spring is on the way!

Victoria finished the year with continued exceptional performance in the hotel sector in December as we saw ongoing Christmas business from our short haul markets. Year end results show very strong growth in every category. Victoria accommodation properties ended the year with annual occupancy of 76.43% (growth of 3.01 points over 2017), average rate of $184.20 (up $15.01 over 2017) and RevPAR of $140.77 ($16.56 increase). The sustained occupancy levels over 72% are a clear indicator that the city is in need of additional hotel room inventory. We predict that while growth may flatten somewh
