92.62% occupancy for Victoria is the highest average monthly rate for the City that we have ever seen. Some factors affecting performance for August include the impact of the forest fires and smoke in the interior of BC diverting travel to the island as well as great weather
Millions More in July Room Revenue

Despite some softening of ferry and cruise ship passenger traffic, Victoria’s accommodation sector experienced an almost 3.7% increase in July occupancy compared to last year and a $28 increase in RevPAR.
June Occupancy Exceeds 90% for Many Hotels!

There are 40 Victoria area hotels that participate in the Tourism Bulletin. The number of these properties reporting a June occupancy rate exceeding 90% increased from 11 in 2017 to 25 in 2018.
Records Are Breaking!

Greater Victoria’s tourism industry is booming! Records have been broken at BC Ferries, Victoria International Airport, and US visitation to BC is up 11.7%. Hotels are experiencing fantastic RevPAR as room rates catch up to our regional competitors.

For the first four months of 2018, Victoria has seen an increase in accommodation, airport and conference centre activity (BC Ferries’ data was not available at the time of publication).

Conference Centre activity is off to a very strong start for 2018; year-to-date, the number of delegate days is pacing at 176% higher than for the same period last year – representing 17,000+ more delegate days
Transportation Numbers Up – Occupancy Down!

All transportation and conference statistics are up from 2017, but hotel occupancy is down 4.18 % from February 2017, and 1.76% YTD. Weather conditions have been poor, affecting close-in visitation on weekends
Positive January Tourism Numbers!

All January tourism indicators improved compared to the same month last year which is a great way to start 2018. Of note is the increase in conference centre delegate days. With Tourism Victoria now managing conference centre marketing activities and numerous events.
