Victoria Tourism Bulletins

We’re pleased to report another year of largely positive growth for Victoria’s tourism industry. Although the 2017 year-over-year occupancy rate dropped marginally (-0.8%), the accommodation sector experienced an $9.64 increase in ADR and a RevPAR rate of $124 (almost $6 higher than last year and notably higher than the projected national RevPAR rate of $99). All transportation and conference centre indicators were up between approximately 2% and 4% compared to 2016. The industry is optimistic that 2018 will be another good year.

I think that 2018 will prove to be a very interesting year as international and domestic tourism continue to grow.

BC Ferries has announced that they saw the highest passenger numbers in their 2nd quarter (ended Sept. 30) in 20 years.
